A taste of what is in store....

Ok-I confess. I am a pretty hopeless blogger... I have plenty of reasons and excuses but it all comes down to one simple thing. I am time poor.

I am a wife, a mum, I work and on the weekends, I spent my "me " time (ie- when my boy is having his nap) doing something I love-sewing. By the time I have finished my latest project, I run out of time to take snaps and post on my blog.

Over the last three months, since my last stall at Billycart Markets I have been sewing up a storm in preparation for this weeks market which is on Saturday 26 June.

I have added some new items to my range, all with the same style and colour scheme, but some nappy bags or large totes and cushions. I have also created some more colourful and cheery bloomers and bibs.

Here is a taste of some of the new items I have made for next weeks market. These items will soon be available on my madeit store, etsy or if there is something you fancy, please message me.

I am looking forward to seeing some of my new friends next week- Christine from C Percy Designs, Liz from When Sarah Met Liz, Jen from Melei! It will be nice to catch up.

Have a great week.. Cassandra.

A Relaxing Crafty Weekend

Ahhh... bliss! A weekend where I did not leave the house for 48 complete hours. The only reason I left the house this afternoon was to go to the supermarket to buy milk.

Due to a weekend of not having to be anywhere or go anywhere I took advantage of nap times and pulled out my trusty Pfaff. I created and created some more.

It started with completing an order from Billycart Markets for Kylie from Butterfly Garden Hair Accessories and then got to work on a new design of a nappy bag using dreamy Michael Miller-Fly by Day Fabric for the front pockets. I also managed to personalise some white long sleeve tee's for my little boy Alex.
I have been brainstorming ideas for decoration of my next stall at Billycart Markets on 26th June.

If you interested in my new nappy bags.. please email me or stay tuned for further information as they will be listed on my Made It Shop very soon.

Billycart Markets- 27 March

Yesterday I attended my first baby & childrens market- Billycart Markets which was located at Narrabeen, New South Wales. Yesterday marked the first ever Billycart Market and a big congratulations goes to Melanie Grace of Billycart for a great day and also all the handmade retailers there. The hall looked beautiful and was busy right on opening time!

I met some wonderful ladies who made me laugh, who gave great advice, and I especially enjoyed being neighbours to Liz from When Sarah Met Liz, Chris from C Percy Designs and Jen from Melei. Hopefully I will see you again soon!

Here are some photos of my stall.

2010-Happy New Year

Happy New Year. I know that this is bit late in the year to be saying it, but January in our household was hectic to say the least!
We had an exciting christmas and our son Alex's first Birthday was 4 days after and it was the most amazing day. Unfortunately we saw in the new year to a sick 1 year old... Poor Alex was on medication for a month. From Tonsilitus to Ear Infections, but the end of this month we had all had enough of illness. Even I ended up on a course of Antibiotics catching a throat infection from Alex.
But anyway onwards and upwards I say!

We have spent the month settling back into work, the changing sleep patterns of a 1 year old and trying to somewhat get our house organised. You all know that type of motivation you get when a new year starts that sometimes only lasts for a few weeks!

I have spent some of the month filling some orders I have had and now onto new ideas and working on existing designs. I am looking at some markets in a few months. Possibly March we may kick off on those!

Here is a picture of my little boy's first birthday party.

Revesby Craft Market-19 December

We attended our first market on Saturday. It was our local market. Such a buzz, I had a fantastic day! We sold a fair few items, not a sell out but I think successful all the same. Pending confirmation, we will be attending again in February. Am looking forward to 2010 and building Little Blue Chicken! Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Here are some photos of my stall at Revesby Craft Fair.

Busy, Busy, Busy

A really busy weekend was had in our household. Little Blue Chicken has been confirmed for the Revesby Craft Fair which will be held on the 19th December, 2009. This will be our first market. It is very exciting! In saying this, I have been busy putting some of my designs into fruition.

Little Alexander pulled himself up into the standing position using the coffee table as an aid on Sunday. I do think that he may take his first unaided steps by the time he turns 1 which is at the end of December. Exciting stuff- but yet he is growing up too fast!

Here are some pics from my busy sewing weekend.

Welcome to Little Blue Chicken!

Welcome to my blog-Little Blue Chicken.

Little Blue Chicken is named after my own little blue chicken. Alexander who is nearly 11 months and he is my whole world. He has the most happiest personality and cheekiest little smile. Alex in our household has the nickname chicken as when he was born, he used to make the cutest little chicken noises, he now responds to chicken. UH OH! I find myself calling him that as habit. This concerns me a little as when he starts day care next year-will he respond to his name Alex?

Little Blue Chicken is a collection of colourful & cheerful creations made by myself in Sydney, Australia.

Little Blue Chicken started with a need for a book/toy bag for my son Alexander.
From there, I decided to create more. My collection of crafted items can be seen here on my blog and are for sale on the following sites Etsy and Made It.

I hope that you enjoy reading my blog and following me on my Little Blue Chicken Journey!
